Individual Consultations

Here are some questions to determine whether or not coaching is right for you:

Would you like to:

  • best negotiate the fine balance between growth, stabilization, forward motion and maintaining the winning edge?
  • align your life and livelihood by syncing personal values with your professional mission?
  • create a healthier balance between your professional life, your family obligations, and the heightened need for self care that comes with heightened responsibilities?
  • sustain and expand your vision? clarify a vision that feels out of reach? or develop an emerging vision?

Are you:

  • Ready to ramp up on a new vision?
  • Navigating your current situation optimally?
  • experiencing high turnover or mediocre productivity?
  • ready for creative innovation?
  • feeling burned out or like you’ve lost the “edge?”

Does it seem lonely at the top  during the inevitable changes that make and break careers?

Could you use some out of the box perspective on persistent concerns?

Why coaching?

Just like Olympic athletes hire coaches to get to the gold, successful professionals are reporting high returns on investment in coaching. Whether you’re an organizational leader, entrepreneur, or in private practice, you got there because you’ve got a certain “leaderful spark.” It can be challenging to focus and even more challenging to fan your spark into its most vibrant flame. And the spark that fueled your rise can burn you when it’s too confined by the status quo.

At the UN Foundation

Dr. Joni, leading coaching-based programming at the United Nations

Successful athletes know that they can do plenty on their own but when they want to maintain their best game and/or break through to the next level, they hire the right professional for the job. Tiger Woods often has 3 or more coaches on his payroll. None of them play better golf than he does but they all contribute to his success. Likewise, a coach isn’t usually an expert in your field – you are. They aren’t even an expert on your life – you are. The coaching process helps you access your expertise and use it in the most efficient, effective ways possible.

Olympians never go for the gold without a coach – and that’s not because they’re weak! Quite the contrary. It’s because there’s plenty of evidence that a highly trained professional makes all the difference. Coaching helps you best negotiate the winds and tides of change in a way that partners, coworkers, friends and even spouses just can’t.

Wisdom at Work clients capitalize on vision, passion, hard work, determination, and even on the obstacles that inevitably show up on the path to sustaining success. And, just like Olympians set new standards of potential, Wisdom at Work clients blaze new paths and strengthen foundations already built.

Wisdom at Work Consulting supports leaders, professionals, and entrepreneurs who make changes that make a difference. We work primarily by telephone. We serve a wide range of professionals throughout the US, UK & Canada as well as civil service leaders, including those in and around the United Nations. Clients report increased clarity and productivity that translate into healthier bottom lines.

Return on investment in coaching studies are clear: coaching to solve problems yields good returns, but coaching to maintain the leaderful edge has a much higher payoff.

How does it work?

Most coaching happens by telephone. Clients sign on for a set number of one-hour calls and they can take advantage of e-mail support and Coaching on Call, a retainer option.

Companies are finding that having coaches available on an as-needed basis is vital for realizing organizational potential. That’s why our coaching package options include Coaching on Call services along with individual coaching and mastermind groups – on site and by phone; seminars/workshops; and e-mail support.

Leadership coaching studies document what Olympic athletes  have  understood for a long time – that  when there are problems to  be  solved, good coaching has a high return on investment. But, to get to the gold you have to coach at the cutting edge, not just on  problem-solving. The Wisdom at Work methodology not only helps resolve persistent concerns to close the gaps between where you are and where you want to be; it also helps turn your leadership into a legacy.
