Prophets say "no." Mystics say "yes."

“A mystic is one who intuitively perceives Truth and, without mental process, arrives at Spiritual Realization.”
Earnest Holmes

We are all translators of Truth. I believe we all host an inner mystic. It lives in the human spirit and thrives on vision and  values. It perceives a Truth that’s situated in a kind of Knowing that, despite the good work of mystics, prophets, poets, clergy and scholars throughout the ages, has never been adequately understood with words.

Every day choices are highly impacted by our translation of Truth. So the mystic in us has to say “Yes, bring It on!” while the prophet’s job is to say “no” to truths that compete with our Truth. You may trigger drama in your life and work when you dare to dance with your mystical, prophetic self. But, you will access a more solid foundation for decision-making.

That’s important because the Truth isn’t a fixed idea, it’s a never ending spiral of discernment. It’s been my experience that when they work from the platform of a Truth seeker by embracing their mystical and prophetic urges, leaders create far more vital organizations and they leave legacies.

Coaching homework: Sit down. Take a few breaths – deep into your belly. Set a timer for 2 minutes. Close your eyes and settle into natural, steady breathing for a few moments. Focus your mind and heart on where the Truth lies in you. Keep bringing your attention back to Truth.
